Al Bowden, Esq.

Al Bowden is an Of Counsel attorney with The Sketchley Law Firm, bringing nearly four decades of legal experience and a distinguished record of public service and private practice. A Tallahassee resident for more than 35 years, Al is deeply familiar with the legal landscape of Florida and is committed to serving clients throughout the region with insight, professionalism, and care.

Before joining The Sketchley Law Firm in November 2022, Al spent the majority of his career with the Florida Attorney General, where he served as a civil litigator. Over the course of his tenure, he handled more than 50 jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts across Florida. His skill and dedication led to multiple promotions, culminating in his role as Special Counsel. In addition to his litigation work, Al was a presenter at professional conferences, and he was honored by Florida Trend as a Top Government Attorney.

At The Sketchley Law Firm, Al focuses on a broad range of matters within Elder Law. He is currently completing an LL.M. in Elder Law at Stetson University College of Law, further strengthening his ability to guide clients through complex legal and financial planning issues affecting older adults and their families.

Al also maintains an active mediation and arbitration practice, offering clients and counsel an experienced and balanced approach to dispute resolution. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Georgia, and Colorado.

He has earned the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence as recognized by his peers.

Outside of his practice, Al is an exercise enthusiast who values a healthy lifestyle. He enjoys spending time with his wife, three adult children, and Maya, his beloved poodle mix.
